All things Work together for Good – by Tesfom Melake

Romans 8:28

Romans 8:28a

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God; to those are the called according to His purpose” -Romans 8:28

The word of God testifies that all things work together for our good. Let’s say that if things are getting from bad to worse what does this mean? Does it mean things are not working for our Good?

Not at all! What then, if we are in hardship and troublesome and mess of life; this also does not mean things does not work for our Good. What if the River Jordan get full above its normal, and what if the city of Jericho is fortified by  wall that can’t be passed through by any means? Praise be to our Lord Christ Jesus, for his word never pass even if the earth and heaven pass.

If the word of God says all things work together for our good, whether Jericho be fortified by a thick wall or river Jordan be abnormally full of flood and life seem upside down but we know one thing, all these things, even though they seem bad but they work for our good. For the word of God never fails to be truth in time past, present and even future.

We also know that our God has the ability of bringing food from the one who eats for the word says “Out of the eater came forth food, and out of the strong came forth sweetness” Judges 14:14. So happy are those who are called according to the purpose of God, for me and you are one of these people called according to the purpose of our God.

home_purposeDo you know what this purpose of our God is?
Let me tell you it is doing good for those who love him, it could be doing good out of good or it could also be doing good out of bad. As we have read in the Bible regardless the full flood of Jordan and the thick wall of Jericho the Israelites never stopped/remained back from possessing their inheritance which the LORD their God had promised to give them through their father Abraham, but we can notice that they faced a lot of obstacles like fullness of Jordan and thickness of Jericho’s walls and we can also note that they were challenged by 36 kings to stop them from possessing what God has said they (Israelites) will possess.

But the core point here is what the Lord has said to you will come true, whatever condition or situation or things may face and try to challenge and stop you from having what the Lord has said you will have. But in addition to this we should also note that the people of God (Israelites) were good fighters so we too also should be good fighters against the devil and his angels who constantly try to block our blessing from God as was the case to the Israelites from entering their good land Canaan.

Therefore, as the Israelites were able to conquer their inheritance by force and with the help of their God, So are we to achieve our blessing through Christ Jesus and for sure all things will work for our Good.

Whatever situation may come in front of us let us stand in the living rock (Christ) and fight a good fight of Faith.
“Thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ…”
– 2 Corinthians 2:14a.

After all we are the victorious people for our LORD and the God we worship is always the victorious in history.
